Newton Neighborhood Partnership (NCP), in collaboration with the Newton County Drug Free Neighborhood Coalition (DFC), proudly supported eight highschool college students from our Youth Motion Staff (YAT) and two grownup advisors in attending Georgia Teen Institute (GTI), held the week of June 9, 2025 at Reinhardt College.
GTI is a statewide youth management program that empowers teenagers to guide prevention efforts and promote wellness of their communities. Over the course of 60 hours of intensive coaching and connection, our YAT members participated in team-building actions, workshops, and peer collaboration targeted on underage ingesting prevention, youth psychological well being, group service, and youth engagement.
On account of their expertise, the Newton YAT group chosen underage ingesting prevention and youth psychological well being as the main target of their group mission for the 2025–2026 college 12 months—work that instantly helps the mission of the Newton County Drug Free Neighborhood Coalition.
We’re additionally proud to share that 4 YAT alumni—now in faculty—served as GTI employees members, mentoring youth from throughout the state and modeling the lasting impression of youth management and prevention training.
