Man arrested for killing spouse, son in Covington dwelling Thursday

A Newton County man is in custody after allegedly capturing and killing his spouse and son inside their Covington dwelling shortly after midnight Thursday. 

What we all know:

Deputies responded to a residence on Oak Meadows round 12:20 a.m. on July 17 following a report of a double capturing. On the scene, they encountered 53-year-old Willie Glenn, who advised deputies that his spouse, 50-year-old Kowanda Glenn, and his 20-year-old son, Mikhail Glenn, had been shot.

Investigators with the Newton County Felony Investigations Division shortly launched an inquiry, figuring out that the incident was home in nature. Authorities arrested Glenn on the scene. He’s now dealing with two counts of homicide, two counts of aggravated assault, and one rely of possession of a firearm throughout the fee of against the law.

What we do not know:

As of Thursday afternoon, a motive has not been confirmed and the investigation stays ongoing.

What they’re saying:

Sheriff Ezell Brown and the Newton County Sheriff’s Workplace expressed condolences to the victims’ household and family members, stating they’re “deeply saddened” by the tragedy.
